On May 12-13, conservationists in more than 80 countries took part in the World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD), carrying out actions and campaigns to inform about difficulties faced by birds during their migration. The topic of this year's WMBD was 'Unifying our voices for bird conservation'. Following this call, the UzSPB, together with its student clubs held a series of events that were attended by more than 270 people in five regions of Uzbekistan!

The new 40(1) 2018 volume of Sandgrouse was issued. It is publishing twice a year by Ornithological Society of the Middle East, the Caucasus and Central Asia (OSME).

On May 12-13, lovers of birds and nature around the world will celebrate the World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) for the twelfth time! This year's WMBD theme 'Unifying our voices for bird conservation!' emphasizes the partnership of this global campaign organizers aimed at raising awareness of the difficulties faced by migratory birds. Uzbekistan Society for the Protection of Birds offers student clubs to organize activities timed to the WMBD at their universities and schools!

We came to the end of the first and the brightest ecological date of spring - the International Bird Day. Starting from this year, the Bird Day has become a real professional holiday for UzSPB supporters. Bird Day 2018 was the most vivid and creative for its 11-year history in our country! Bird observations in five regions of Uzbekistan, scenic shows, exhibitions, master classes, games, quizzes and scientific seminars brought together more than 900 participants! The holiday was largely designed for children: it was attended by about 300 pupils from seven schools, as well as representatives of 'Barkamol avlod' children centers.

On Sunday, April 1, the first and long-awaited ecological date of spring, the International Bird Day was held in Tashkent Botanical garden! Despite the cloudy day and spring coolness, the holiday turned out to be really warm and bright. Smiles arose on faces of its participants, caused by a variety of contests, master classes and games. The event reached over 90 schoolchildren from different Tashkent schools.
